Katherine Mazza Cadena

Katherine is a Doctor of Physical Therapy born and raised in Puerto Rico, and the founder of Movimiento Vital. She earned her Doctorate from Florida International University and has experience treating orthopedic injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, return-to-sport recovery, and wellness-focused care. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she is passionate about helping people move with confidence and return to the activities that matter most to them.

After beginning her career in outpatient orthopedics in New York, Katherine spent a year working as a travel physical therapist throughout Washington and Oregon. Experiencing different practice models reinforced the value of one-on-one care and the meaningful relationships that can develop when each patient has the time and attention they deserve. Those experiences ultimately inspired her to return home to Puerto Rico and create Movimiento Vital.

Outside of physical therapy, Katherine enjoys staying active through kiteboarding, strength training, yoga, running, climbing, and anything that challenges her to move in new ways. She believes movement looks different for everyone, and that rehabilitation should support not only recovery, but the lifestyle and activities that bring each person joy.

For Katherine, physical therapy is about more than treating an injury; it's about helping people navigate challenging seasons with confidence, compassion, and a personalized approach to care. Through Movimiento Vital, her goal is to provide thoughtful, individualized treatment that empowers clients to move better, feel stronger, and get back to living fully.
